Onigiri bento boxes made with local ingredients are served at the Onishi Tourist Hotel at the trailhead. The side dishes change with the seasons, making them unique to the area.

Tochanage soup
There are several theories about the origin of the name "Tochanage Soup." One theory is that it comes from the act of taking suiton (a type of kneaded wheat flour) and throwing it into a pot, and that "to take" (take) means "to throw," which became "tochanage." Another theory is that it comes from "Papa Nabe" (a hotpot made by fathers in the Joshu region, where the wife rules the house).
